Peepli Live to Oscar: the film selected India's official entry for Oscar

The perfectionist always go for “all is well”.Amirkhan’s ‘Peepli Live’ has selected India's official entry for Oscar. This is the third time Amir is associated with Oscar selection. The first was “Lagaan” nominated among the best five in the best foreign film category. The second time with ‘Taare zameen’ par and now its’ Peepli Live’.

Peepli Live is a comic satire based on farmer suicides. The film directed by Debutante  Anusha Rizvi.The film, stars theatre actors and was shot in a small village in Madhya Pradesh.27 films including pazhassi Raja(Malayalam),Kuttysrank(Malayalam), Angadi Theru' (Tamil), 'Madrasa Patinam(Tamil) Vinnaithandi Varuvaya(Tamil) were screened for the selection committee.
